DMX Gets 90 Days In Prison
DMX was sentenced to 90 days in prison during an appearance in a Phoenix court room on Friday (January 30).
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was ordered to spend three months in prison following the raid on his Arizona home by Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies after the rapper was suspected of animal abuse.
During the raid several malnourished dogs were found as well as the charred remains of several others. Authorities also discovered guns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
Simmons was also facing charges for felony theft after giving medical staff a fake name and social security number when billed for treatment at a Scottsdale clinic last year.
Several charges against the rapper were dropped in favour of a guilty plea.
As well as the 90 day prison term, Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner Phemonia Miller ordered that Simmons must also serve 18 months supervised probation.
Simmons was not given any credit for time served and is expected to remain in prison until the end of April.
